Born into a sports-loving Marwari family in Mumbai, Smriti moved to Sangli where her father and brother both played district-level cricket.Watching her brother play inspired her to pick up the bat. She made rapid strides through domestic cricket for Maharashtra and made her international debut in 2013. Since then, she has anchored India's batting line-up across all formats and emerged as a highly successful captain in franchise cricket.
