Highest Team Score in IPL History - Record-Breaking Totals
Discover the highest team scores in IPL history and learn which teams created record-breaking moments that changed the game forever.
Mahakal Book AdminThe upcoming IPL will start soon. So, this article will give you information about the highest scores in past matches. Sometimes people lack proper information, which will help them to gain knowledge and increase their interest in watching matches, especially about the teams that have scored the highest totals.

I remember looking at these IPL innings and thinking Chris Gayle's 175 not out against Pune Warriors back in 2013 stands out the most. It's still the highest score anyone has made in the league, and it's unbeaten after all these years. That one just feels like the peak of explosive batting.

Then there's Brendon McCullum with his 158 not out for KKR versus RCB in 2018. He really changed how openers go after the ball these days, all power and destruction right from the start. His even bigger knock happened earlier, but people still talk about this one in IPL stories.

Abhishek Sharma's 141 for SRH against Punjab Kings in 2025 seems pretty recent, one of those high scores from the latest seasons. Quinton de Kock had a solid 140 not out for Lucknow Super Giants playing KKR in 2022, mixing timing with some real power, like a full T20 show.

AB de Villiers comes up a lot here. His 133 not out against the Mumbai Indians in 2015 was so effortless, you know, brutal but smooth. And then another one, 129 not out versus the Gujarat Lions in 2016, just showing how he owned the IPL. I think that dominance is hard to match.

KL Rahul scored 132 not out for Kings XI Punjab against RCB in 2020, and it's one of the quickest centuries they have. Shubman Gill got 129 for the Gujarat Titans, facing the Mumbai Indians in 2023, under all that playoff pressure, a real masterclass sort of thing.

Chris Gayle again, with 128 not out against Delhi Daredevils in 2012, right in his storm phase. Rishabh Pant at 128 not out for Delhi Daredevils versus SRH in 2018, young and fearless, that innings stuck with me.

When it comes to team totals, things really took off after 2023. IPL batting just exploded. Sunrisers Hyderabad hit 287 for 3 against RCB in 2024, and that's the biggest ever in the history of the league. They followed it up with 286 for 6 versus the Rajasthan Royals in 2025, almost as crazy.

SRH again at 277 for 3 playing the Mumbai Indians in 2024. Kolkata Knight Riders managed 272 for 7 against Delhi Capitals that same year. Then SRH with 266 for 7 versus Delhi Capitals in 2024 too.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had 263 for 5 against Pune Warriors way back in 2013. Punjab Kings scored 262 for 2 against KKR in 2024. RCB hit 262 for 7 against SRH in 2024 as well. KKR at 261 for 6 versus PBKS in 2024. Delhi Capitals with 257 for 4 against the Mumbai Indians in 2024.

It's kind of messy how SRH keeps popping up in these top scores, but it makes sense with the way the game has changed. Some of these feel like they could be broken soon.
